FriendFeed sold to Facebook

Facebook has bought FriendFeed, social-network feed aggregation service. FriendFeed co-founder Bret Taylor considers that the motives behind both the companies is same i.e. socially connect people by providing appropriate tools.

FriendFeed’s co-founders will hold senior roles on Facebook’s engineering and product teams, according to the release, and the remaining 12 employees will also join Facebook.

Although FriendFeed is not that massive of a company with a lesser recognition, but Facebook is more of on a talent hunt rather than expanding its circle. The prevision acquisitions like Parakey is also such an example.

But Facebook director of product Christopher Cox, on the other hand, denied it to be a talent acquisition. He said that their aim is to provide not just a platform but a service for its user’s social activity.
