The “Release Candidate”, pre-release version of Windows 7, was made available at the start of this month for testing and trial purposes. After numerous technical and hardware support issues in Windows Vista, the companies and individuals are keeping an eye on this release and expect that it wont be as disappointing as its predecessor.
BBC’s Click had reviewed Windows 7 and has discussed various features. This includes:
Super Taskbar
Multiple Touch Support
Desktop Background
Virtual PC Mode
Data Protection
Live Search
The most fascinating feature in this version is the Multiple Touch Support which allows us to use more than one finger. Currently, only a few applications and hardwares are supporting this feature.

Another fascinating feature is the Super Task bar in which we can add our commonly used applications and their launch time will be reduced manifolds.
The compatibility issue has some what been addressed to in the Virtual PC Mode. In this the applications which are not compatible with Windows Vista can be run on Windows XP virtually.
This version also gives us the ability to password protect our portable devices like USB etc…
