Windows Vista had a very negative impact on the general public even before its release 3 years back. This time however, Microsoft is hopeful that Windows 7 would be as per user satisfaction.
Windows 7 has no special hardware requirements and can run on same specs as those for Windows Vista.
A test version of Windows 7 will be available to the public from 5 May. A commercial release of Windows 7 is expected in the beginning of next year.
There were a lot many hardware and application compatibility issues with Windows Vista which created great deal of discomfort to the people. Microsoft assures that these issues won’t be happening with the newer version.
A few of the features of Windows 7 are as follow:
- Backward compatibility mode which can run applications not working on Windows 7
- Access to home digital media over the net
- Full screen previews of applications
