Talk of display models for cell phones and we have companies coming up with the idea of gigantic phones. A few weeks back, Cricket ( a regional carrier company) along with Samsung launched a display model of Messager R450 which broke the Guinness record for being the world’s largest cellphone. The model is in display at Chicago and is 11 feet high.
Well, that was a different yet nice move to attract customers. Moreover, this phone is fully functional including the features of making calls and texting. The calls are made using the speaker phone, so that’s a good way of letting half of Chicago know of your conversation.
Recently, Nokia also launched the bigger version of their latest edition of Xpress Music i.e. Nokia 5800. This touch screen phone is at display in Antwerp, Belgium. The 4 feet display model allows the users to play music, browse online and to play around with the device. The large phone is controlled by pressing on the glass which activates a Flash application that mimics the phone’s interface. Moreover, there are speakers fitted within the glass to play and music and sounds. People at Create Multimedia, explain the principle or working:
“Bypassers can control the mobile phone by touching the glass. Create Multimedia developed a Flash application similar to the phone’s interface. You can listen to music, look at maps, browse video’s, photo’s… The hardware we used was an iWindow Interactive foil combined with their unique daylight technology. This gave an awesome result even in bright sunlight. We also use the iWindow through glass sound system to play music on the street.”
You may have a look at it functioning in the following video.
